I rarely go on a YouTube binge but…today is an exception. Beware, it’s got a whole bunch of Korean stuff but half of it is absolutely hilarious and the other half is full of Rain‘s dance move which is so hot, it’s…no words describe the sex-o-meter level. It’s out of this world.

Right! First up is Rainism by..Rain.

What can I say, I can pretend that it’s average…BUT HELL FUCKING NO. It’s so damn hot, the dance moves… *v* Ugh, my ovaries are in overdrive.

OK, next is his other smoking hot track called Love Song.

From about 2:23, that’s when the moves start getting all the girls hot and bothered and…yeah. OK. Just DAMN, ALL RIGHT. I can’t help myself but stare.

Rain’s live performance of Hip Song…which I absolutely love by the way, though I can’t seem to find the official MV of this track.

Urgh, he makes every step look so easy. He’s all like “I’m just going to be awesome, so I’m awesome now, OK baby?” And all the fangirls (me included) are like “AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!” *dead faint*

Here’s a parody of Rain’s Rainism track. It’s all subbed hence, the hilarity.

Rainism → hungryism?

And here’s Rain himself being so shy on Strong Heart(?) having to dance to Love Song for a few seconds around ~6:33.

Here’s a subbed piece of Lee Joon (of MBLAQ) talking about Rain’s three stages of anger. A little information, Rain is the producer(?) for MBLAQ.

Talking about Lee Joon…his pants actually ripped in half on television.

It’s funny how half the guest are trying to help him cover himself while the other are too busy ROTFLMAO to help. I’ll admit it. I’ll most probably be part of the ROTFLMAO group.

And here’s Lee Joon being such a gullible (but nice!) person. All subbed.

He collapses after he found out it was a hidden camera. Too cute. If it was me, I probably would have smashed someone’s face in, AND THEN I’ll collapse.

And randomly, parody dances. It’s a few parody and the best parody (in my humble opinion) was the last one, starting at ~5:50 (Lee Hyouri & Rain parodies). The other good ones are ~1:33 (Bo Beep performance) and 5:17 (Rain parody. Again.)

So there we go. I guess I’m feeling a bit nostalgic also, because Rain was recently called for military service. A few well-known Korean artist are being enlisted so it’s just waiting for them, to see what they’ll do after the compulsory term.

So I’m pretty slow and sometimes rather dense in real life and…this kind of applies to me online as well. I only just found out that Delicious got sold to AVOS and AVOS started this whole “we’re going to revamp this place” which…didn’t turn out too well.

They’ve added this “stack” feature which I don’t know what the fuck it does. And…I can’t seem to see all my tags unless I’m logged in? There’s a whole boatload of complaints and flames out there and I’m still not completely sure what’s going on. I do know that as the flames and complaints come in, AVOS is slowly re-inserting the old features that we all love and trust.

To me, a lot of people missed the “tag bundle” feature which I never used…I use Delicious as a private bookmarking system so that even if I change browsers or PC, my bookmarks are still intact and don’t need me to import/export and just generally make me bang my head against the nearest horizontal surface.

Oh! I wish they put back the auto-suggest tags instead of just suggesting tags based on what I already have. When I bookmark things, I just click all the tags that were suggested as they made the most sense. Now I have to do the brainwork and think of tags. Urgh. Just leave Delicious as it was and improve on it, not take away everything…this makes me sad.

Anyway! Since a lot of people are exporting bookmarks and just generally relocating elsewhere, I looked around and it was either Trunk.ly, Diigo or Pinboard. The first two are free though Diigo has a cap of ~300 bookmarks unless you upgrade to a premium account while Pinboard has a one-time fee at registration. Pinboard’s registration fee is (number of users * $0.001). When I signed up, it was ~ USD $9.48.

I think it’s a no-brainer which I chose. Pinboard it was. The services matched most closely like the old Delicious what with the simple interface and the ability to search bookmarks and notes and blah blah. It’s simple, it works and I like it.

In real life, I just finished university yesterday and now it’s exam time. I feel that all these WP upgrade notices bombarding me in the admin panel is trying to tell me that it’s time to create a new look. I think so too. But where’s my creative juice going to come from?

No wisecrack answers please, cause I already have them all playing in my mind as soon as I typed that.

…I don’t understand why just because I use usernames like ‘Ice’ and ‘Prime’ (yes, as in Optimus Prime) in chat and people just…kind of make the assumption that I’m a boy. The last time I used a really girly name was a good eight years ago and that was ‘loveashley’. It’s not like I had a bad experience but I’ve just grown out of girly names and am now in the…Transformers phase.

I use Jetfire in one fandom but no one assumes I’m a boy as most people know I changed it from Ashley.

If I go into a random chatroom under ‘Ice’ or ‘Prime’, they’ll start referencing me as a ‘he’. It’s happened a couple of times already in the last few years and it’s still happening. I don’t know how long I’ll stick in this particular chatroom under ‘Prime’ so I haven’t corrected any of them. I may, in time. Imagine the shock that’s going to be.

I kind of dropped heavy hints in some conversations that I’m a girl but I think they just assume I’m a gay guy. I mean I said Robert Downey should shave in Iron Man then he’ll look better. Does that scream girl? I…I think so but they don’t think so. I’ll bitch more about it later when I’m over this situation which I find very…amusing at the moment.

So! Moving on, Cobra Starship. Sometimes I’m a lover, but sometimes I’m a hater. With Guilty Pleasure, I’m a hater. But with the tracks below, I’M A LOVER.

Keep an eye out for Robin Williams at 1:28.

I haven’t seen DH II yet but going soon. My tumblr account is spammed with HP images at the moment, some funny, some sad…

And hopefully the first and last time I will ever use a phrase like the following: Harry Potter 4eva.

Beware, dial-up monster. 1, 2, <a title="Not magic outside of Hogwarts, dude.

Hrmph. It’s a bit unnerving when you go through your teen years never having a celebrity crush. Then…at nearly 22, wham bam! Hello, <del>ma’am</del> sir! I’ll give you a hint who it is. He’s yummy, he’s hot, he’s acted in all the Harry Potter movies. His name starts with a T and ends with ‘om Felton‘.

I’m not too sure whether I want to laugh it off or bury my head in the ground and never ever surface until it goes away. Whatever it is.

I can’t believe I did this…

Thanks to PSC, Pshero, Gnrbishop, DJSoundWav and InvisibleSnow for the making of the above. And of course, Tom Felton and Snitch Seeker for the incredibly lovely images of Felton. Forgive the shoddy skills at work. I haven’t made anything decent in Photoshop in oh, a good seven years. Took me two hours. The notes on the paper are my actual notes for university on I think, fertilization and cell regulation.

I was in a car with a couple of friends and we started talking about Harry Potter and they know I have this ridiculous crush-thing on Draco Malfoy/Tom Felton. I said when I see him, he makes me go hnnng. That’s pretty much all I can think of when I see him. And one of my friend said I should use that hnnng emotion, and channel it to soccer. Then maybe I can kick farther, and play better.

I think it’s because I’m currently on my holiday, not much to do except work and so my brain thinks it can toy with me. Just wait until university starts back up in a weeks time. Hah! By then, I’ll see a picture of Felton and I’ll be all “Yeah, he’s not too bad. No hnnng though.” Take that, brain! Just you wait!

Just one more sneak peek. He he he.

On a…another note, I’ve been accepted to the Quilting Bee. To be honest, I’m quite surprised as my pixelling skills are next to zero. But I’m hoping to…improve it over the…time that I’ll be there. I’m looking forward to it, to be honest.

This whole entry took me close to three hours. It’s now 2:45 in the morning. I have soccer practice in about eight hours time. I need to sleep. Batgirl, out.

Oh lord, I see that yellow “upgrade to WP 3.1.3 now” banner on my admin panel. I’m so scared to click it. Things might break and blurgh, not in the frame of mind to tinker around at the moment…

Moving on, I just remembered a Livejournal Harry-Potter role-play community that I use to just kinda…lurk about. The main community is called Hogwarts is Home and to get in to this fun, you had to apply at the “sorting” community. Now, this is where it gets interesting. The last time I checked the sorting community back in probably 2008/2009, there were A LOT of applicants who got “squibbed/muggled”. And if I remember correctly from back in the days, applicants who got the dreaded “squibbed/muggled” were not accepted into the community and not allowed to re-apply either at all, or for at least one year. Pretty harsh…

I admit, some applicants were deserving of being “squibbed/muggled”, but I thought some, if not most were not. My personal take on the whole lot of extra “squibbed/muggled” votes being casted in was to keep the community slightly more elite. That’s the feel I got!

But now in 2011, constant reminders on trying to avoid “squibbed/muggled” votes. In 2008/2009, your chances of getting in was about 50% I’d say, now it’s up to about 75% – 80%. I would try my luck at applying but just filling out the application is…a slight chore.

Filling out the application requires me to think and analyze every little bit of ‘me’ at the moment, and to be honest, I don’t feel like doing that. This kind of thing is online, it’s fun, it’s…not real. The ‘me’ is real, it’s offline, it’s private and I don’t feel particularly up to sharing myself and allowing people to critique or…categorize me.

I don’t even feel comfortable posting what my childhood dreams were in a virtual application like that. I’d tell the world what my childhood dreams were when I’m good and ready. Not because I have to say it in some application.

That’s when I take things literally. I guess I could…imagine some information, most information…fine. ALL information.

Well, hi again.

So! I’ve got a few gigs taken up my a few hundred eBooks which does not have any sort of…order or organization. I was tempted to use Good Reads as my cataloging system, and I manage about two books before I gave up. It was too damn tedious and a whole lot of confusion right off the bat. After a brain-drain fight against the GR system, I came out top. But if I have to work so damn hard to add just two books, it’s not worth the effort. (I admit, I’m lazy.)

But looks like I was walking along salvation street when I came across Calibre. It’s a freeware program for eBook management. I’ve added 23 books in the last few hours and it’s pretty good! It pulls all the meta-data associated with the book from ISBNdb and/or Google Books. So things like rating, tags and all that just automatically gets in and I don’t do jack shit. But I’m real anal about details so I have to manually edit a few things, but really. If you need an eBook management system, I swear by Calibre (at the moment).

Skipping to next topic, I’m 21 but my eyesight is like your grandparents. Long-sighted. Oh yes, I’ve been long-sighted since…probably 16. You don’t get many people that young with long-sighted problems. Mine isn’t so bad that my glasses magnifies my eyes…it’s just…kind of mild.

So, I was viewing some internet page just now and I couldn’t help but just love how the text was set out. An example…

The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet.

When I saw that, my eyes cried pseudo-tears of joy. The font size is large enough but still decent, the line height increases readability for me. Believe it or not, that’s a line break between the lines, not a paragraph break. The whole page was set out like that and it still looked damn good. I admit that the current font size I use for Teacup is way too small for myself…but it looked good!

I’ve been trying to incorporate larger fonts in my next layout and it’s…kind of coming along. Let’s hope I can do it justice.

And just so you know, my glasses aren’t old looking! Hah! Take a look!

Yeah, that’s neon orange at the side! Mua ha ha!

I was part of this forum where a big drama exploded a few weeks ago. Now it’s cooled down and it’s time to do my ranting.

The whole drama is over hosting. User A who shall be known as Missing, hosts around half the people on the board and the activity that is associated with the board. Missing is quite friendly with the owner of the board, who I’ll call Owner, and another person on the board who I’m going to name…Friend.

So, we’re all chugging along together until…oh noez, Missing goes, well, missing. So Owner and Friend check up on Missing with a txt message and Missing told them she’d be gone about two weeks on vacation. But after that, she’ll be back. The masses are appeased for the time being.

The two-weeks deadline come and goes. The masses are unsettled, but not ready to put a pitchfork in someone’s eyes yet until…OH NOEZ, Missing’s domain suddenly goes missing and the server is not serving and mass hysteria ensues.

So one of Missing’s hostee starts a thread on the forum asking whether Missing’s domain is giving out a 404 error to anyone else? A few people agrees with the 404 error. By about the seventh post, users are getting agitated that they might lose their files and all that. By the 15th post, Missing is being crucified for being MIA. Until about the…20th post, someone finally has some mind to say that perhaps Missing is in serious health troubles. Thank god, about time. After that, the discussion about the promised torture that shall be inflicted upon Missing on her return dies down dramatically.

Approximately one week passes…

Friend starts a new thread plugging her website that provides hosting to people in need. Well, that’s all great and dandy. I even had a look and it wasn’t too bad, it was pretty decent…besides the damn welcoming message that is probably meant to rub some dirt in Missing’s face! Intro went something like this (excuse my forgetfulness but after I saw that message, I never went back to her website):

…free but reliable hosting…

OK, I know what you’re thinking. “Oh for fuck’s sake, it’s just a damn word which has been italicized! See, even I can italicize it without sounding offensive!” But I think I need to remind you that this is my blog, my rants, my opinions.

So, I see that italicized font and I’m thinking there can be no way that this is some fucking coincidence that Friend not only has a domain after Missing’s sudden indefinite vacation, oh no, it’s a hosting domain, which is supposedly reliable. And that’s what I have an issue with. Nothing is reliable. Nobody is reliable.** So essentially, Friend is promising something that she in actuality, can’t deliver. (By the way, after all these “reliability” crap, a few days ago, her whole server threw a hissy fit and wasn’t very reliable when pages hosted by her kept throwing up errors to visitors.)

My issues with this whole drama:

1) The people hosted by Missing shouldn’t have stoked the fire of crucifying Missing for “missing files” because the hosted were responsible for their own damn files. They should have made a fucking back-up weekly, or monthly, or whenever they have time to. Not to rely on Missing for back-up. Even if she did promise to have a backup of her whole website including hostees, the hostees should have jolly well have their own files anyway.

I’ve been hosted by a handful of people since I started this whole website thing. And I’ve never once relied on their back-up. This whole image files and whatever, I have it on my hard-drive. If there’s not enough space, I use GSpace. What’s that I hear about “oh noez, yours is a simple website. I use WP and I can’t get a back-up of my database unless my host does it for me!!11!!11″ Well, WP has it’s own database back-up system. Or you can use one of the many plug-ins available to do that. If a script doesn’t have many plug-ins or in-built functions to back-up a database, search through Google for a solution!

2) The whole “I can’t believe Missing would host people and then suddenly go AWOL!” business. Missing hosted all of you out of the kindness of her heart. She pays for the space and name. But does she ask the hostees to pay for the space that they are allocated/used? Nope. So those hostees should suck it up and shut up. Just be grateful she even hosted all these people.

3) Before mother nature can blow away the “Missing gone missing!” drama ashes, maybe even before the fire even burnt out, Friend opened her website with the whole “reliable” thing going on. The whole nature of it cannot be classed as co-incidental. I’ll be really lenient with my thinking and go with the masses that maybe she bought the domain name and had the whole idea for the website to be a hosting domain way before the whole “Missing gone missing!” drama started, but there is no way in hell the whole “reliable-in-your-face” thing could have been done before the drama.

—

** In hindsight, I realize by saying that, I would instantly be painted as an extreme pessimist. I neither agree nor disagree with that statement. I am merely stating that while living my life up until now, and even my parents telling me, that I should never rely on anything or anyone except yourself. And this advice has served me well.

Sometimes, I think it’s ridiculous to set a minimum post count per week for any sort of hosting. I saw one that said the hostee must update at least three times a week. Right. Sometimes I can’t even update three times a month without sounding like a broken record.

Mini-tirade over, I’m 99% sure I’ll be getting my paws on the DS Lite Red Mario console next weekend. I can’t wait. Doesn’t help that there’s also the Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver game with more interaction via the pedometer. That should encourage me to exercise more. Mm-hmm. I’ve checked out some games that I may buy initially. They will hopefully include one of the following: Kirby – Canvas Curse; GTA – Chinatown Wars; and Drawn to Life. Hopefully.

And to entertain yourself some more, Modi’s take on good health is sound advice.

PS. Bought a few items online. Should be coming soon. *glee* ?
