I also did a lot of shopping. I think in total, I must have spend something like NZD $1500+ in both countries together. It was a lot of fun. I definitely recommend going to Thailand for a holiday. It is incredibly beautiful.

Well, hello world! I’m typing this on my brand new laptop. I have to say, the keyboard is a bit of getting used to. It’s much more “square and set” than my previous ones. And the arrow-pad is the hardest. The left and right keys are normal sized. The up and down arrow key is half the height of the left/right arrow and is a bitch getting used to as every time I want to press up, nothing happens because I’m pressing the Shift key! And when I want to go down, the screen “jitters” because I’m pressing the up and down button. It’s so freaking tiny! Why, HP, WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME. The dead laptop was a HP pavilion as well, so I don’t understand why the ugly change on the arrow pad??

The stupidly-designed arrow pad on my brand new baby.

Anyway, moving onto more delicious things! A couple of incredibly kind soul (Bekki & Eva) finally identified the incredibly sexy dance clip in this post. The track is called ‘Abandoned’ by Jay Park and Dok2. Gah, I’m all squeee about it, still.

No matter how many times I look at it, everything is hot. I don’t recommend checking out my Last.FM profile for the moment. If I’m not listening to Stephen Fry’s Harry Potter audiobooks, it’s full of Jay Park’s Abandoned. Seriously. Just one tiny thing. I love love love the ending (no singing) and the slight drums kinda…roll. They roll, I roll, that’s how we roll for the time being.

Why my lack of angsty posts lately, I hear you ask? Well, let me introduce my brand new baby, the HTC Desire HD.

I got it about two weeks ago, and the Martin Fields screen protector has already been applied to the phone, though you can’t see it because it’s the awesome powers of a Martin Fields screen protector at work.

Right, description about the photo clockwise…top-left is the main page. I changed the background from that really colorful default looking background to a more subtle-toned so as to not hurt my eyes too much. There’s a bar in the middle there and I don’t know what the middle icon is for. The ugly-pink bar is just covering some sensitive information. Don’t think too much of it…

Top-right features one of the “side-screen”. I call that my music screen for incredibly obvious reasons. I like the fact that the bottom bar which contains links to all your applications, phone application and personalization settings are there in ANY screen. Just as I was taking the picture, my dad sends me a message so, pink bar to cover sensitive information, as per usual.

Bottom-right is the back. The usual culprit makes it’s appearance (camera, flash, loudspeaker). The black panel on the side is where the battery pack is (I’m 99% sure) and let me assure you, it is a real bitch to remove the panel to access the battery. I literally had to PRY the panel away using my fingernails until I thought something would snap. Nothing snapped…except my heartbeat stop for a moment when I thought I went too far and broke something.

Bottom-left is the landscape keypad layout. I find this way much easier to txt/email than the squished version when using the phone normally. But even in landscape, I’m still having some difficulty getting used to touch-screen typing. I’m afraid to say it…but this baby is too sensitive sometimes…*ducks flying knives and pitchforks*

One thing that is a bit weird I thought is the lack of video-calling capabilities (re: lacking camera on the front). My old Sony Ericsson K800i had that feature, why couldn’t the Desire HD have it? It’s no biggie but I just thought it was weird. On the other hand, if the Desire HD does have this capability, can someone let me know where I can find this?

OK, this entry took me two hours and it’s now 23:59, Sir Awesome here, signing out!

This happened a few days ago. I wanted to dig a hole in the ground and bury my head in there and never ever surface. Well, maybe I’ll surface when I’m over this dieing shame and embarrassment of mine.

My father took the whole week off so him, my brother and I went to a mall. Nice family day out. I walked into a clothing store…when I saw this pair of denim shorts which were like a creation from the crème de la crème of designers. It was calling my name. I hate to say this but they were perfect! I had to try.

So I took a size 8 and excitedly went to the changing rooms to try this creation created just for me. That’s when things starting going down hill. I could only get it up to mid-thigh (how ironic) and it just. Wouldn’t. Go Up. Anymore. So I thought to myself, “OK, maybe the regular-sized Cookies & Cream Mega Shake from Wendy’s the day before wasn’t the best idea.”

I walked back to the rack with a bit of worry and took a size 10. On second thoughts, I took a size 12 just in case. I really really really wanted those pair of jeans. The 10 only came up 2cm more than the size 8. And now I’m panicking, size 12 have to fit. Otherwise, I will have a small portion of dinner and go crazy on Zumba. If I had Zumba that is.

I managed to wear the size 12 properly but I worried the seams at the butt-crack would split if I sat or squat too long. At this point, I just went “Fuck it. If I went up 4 sizes in a few weeks, I do not deserve that pair of jeans which just screams my name.” So I put both sizes back and stormed out of the shop. There was a size 14 but…hey, I just thought I went up four sizes. I did not deserve to try it on anymore.

So I went out and told my dad about that horrid shopping experience. Then my brother said casually, “Maybe it’s the kids section…” And I went…ldfhalcskhfFUCKFUCKFUCKldskfjgahlsdjfhDAMNDAMNDAMNldkfjghlsjdfDIEDIEDIE. This was the stupid store’s layout. In my defense, there was NO signs/banners that said it was the stinking kids section.

I thought… ? ? ? Actual Store Layout

I won’t say anymore about this experience. I might be tempted to go back, run into the store with a balaclava, quickly pay, run out…AND WEAR THE STUPID PAIR OF JEANS THAT SCREAMS MY NAME and gave me so much grief. By the way, this is a poor poor example of the jeans. It was roughly like that but plain black and the lower hem wasn’t rolled up. It looked very simple and nice.

I’ve been quite hooked on Trauma Center that I think my arms are suffering from trauma. That game is seriously addictive.

Oh yeah, may have been ranting on about DS and all that, below are my latest purchases. The DS Lite was from JB-Hifi while the cellphone charms from a private LJ seller. With the LJ seller, the only reason I bought from her was because the items were going at a really low price.

Forgive the smallness in the “big” preview. Not too sure what’s up with my YAWCAM software. *smacks YAWCAM* I haven’t touched the image settings at all but somehow it’s gone smaller. When I try and get it back to the size it was before, it was a “non-existent” image specification. Yeah right.

Right, the DS. It’s a DS Lite in coral pink. That was the last DS Lite in the store. Instant buy right there. And straight after, I got myself the Pokemon HeartGold. I’m going slow with that game. Trauma Center takes priority. I’ve got patients suffering from GUILT that needs my ~healing touch~. I’m slowly levelling up my Pokemon with the Pokewalker though. It’s on myself most of the time.

With the keychains, they are super-mighty-awesome! The left-most one is a bun and it smells like a real bun! Not joking. I’m being really real here. (???) The other two supposedly flashes if a call is incoming (after plastic tab is removed, duh!) I’m waiting until my New Zealand charm breaks off to use these new cuties.

In real life, I attended a 21st on Saturday night. It was OK. My two other friends and I left at about 12:30AM. I expected to last until about 2AM, guess not. But there’s another 21st in about two weeks so I’m hoping to last a bit later next time. I learnt that next time, to last late through the night, don’t take a “food” break.

Within three hours, I had already downed three drinks. And these weren’t pissy low alcohol beers/wines. I started off with a Mojito, followed by a Midori/Lemonade mix, had a few sips of Grand Marnier with Lemonade mix finishing off with Cointreau/Lemonade mix. I did not like the Grand Marnier because it had that raisin taste. Yuk. Total spent = NZD ~$30. Me = (??;)

I’ve got a Chemistry assignment which I need to beat with a stick to death at the moment, so…that’s all folks!

I saw one that said the hostee must update at least three times a week. Right. Sometimes I can’t even update three times a month without sounding like a broken record.

Mini-tirade over, I’m 99% sure I’ll be getting my paws on the DS Lite Red Mario console next weekend. I can’t wait. Doesn’t help that there’s also the Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver game with more interaction via the pedometer. That should encourage me to exercise more. Mm-hmm. I’ve checked out some games that I may buy initially. They will hopefully include one of the following: Kirby – Canvas Curse; GTA – Chinatown Wars; and Drawn to Life. Hopefully.

And to entertain yourself some more, Modi’s take on good health is sound advice.

PS. Bought a few items online. Should be coming soon. *glee* ?

So my old slippers were hazardous to my personal safety. And I’ve been checking out the Ipanema Gisele Bündchen footwear range for a few months now…and I finally got my pair today!

These were bought at Hannah’s for NZD $50. They only had this color scheme or the neon orange in this sandal-style. I bought the sandals with the aim to be able to wear it anywhere. Including the office.

This is because my current manager, told my colleague to tell me that my old slippers aren’t “appropriate” for the office and that she has had “complaints” from a few people regarding the slippers. Right…complaints. Other employees are tramping around the building wearing black slippers and uh…yeah. Shall I lodge a complain about them for you?

Yeah, OK whatever. I’m still working on my feelings for my current manager. It’s coming along…

Anyway! With these slippers/sandals, she can’t say a word about it being “inappropriate“. Otherwise…let’s not go there…

But check it out! It’s awesome! I love it. I heart it. A lot. I expected them to be quite tough, but they are one of the most comfortable sandals/slippers I have ever worn. Now let’s hope they last until next summer.

It’s really stupid that Photobucket removed the old uploader for anyone who has Flash installed. I’m on Firefox 3.0.11 and it should be compatible (I think…) but it’s not. Everytime I use their stupid Flash uploader, all my images say ‘uploaded’ and when I refresh, it’s not there. I’ve been using FireUploader to go around the stupid PB problem. Anyone want to suggest a better service?

I’m looking around for a wireless mouse because my optical mouse on this laptop is slowly crapping out on me. When I want to highlight a text, the laptop thinks I’ve double-click and refuses to highlight. I’m trying to select my bookmark folder in Firefox, the stupid menu wouldn’t open because, again, it thinks I’ve double-click so refuses to open. I’m trying to insert a text in the middle of a paragraph, it selects the whole paragraph and I have to slowly move the cursor using the D-Pad. I’m just about ready to throttle the mouse itself if only it was alive. And today is only the second day it’s screwing up.

Oh yeah, my ring arrived! Be jealous, my minions, be very jealous…

Pardon the bad lighting in the first picture, hence the second. All from webcam. Now you see what I mean that it is like a wedding band? Oh well. I love it.

I just bought myself a gold ring. Oh my god. A. Gold. Ring. Real. Gold. Ring.

I just had my first pay and borrowing a tradition from a friend where you buy something memorable for your first pay, I was tossing up between getting a custom bra or jewelery. Don’t know how I drifted towards jewelery. Then going with the jewelery option, I was undecided between an ID cuban chain link bracelet or a ring.

My mother and I went to Michael Hill yesterday just to get an idea of what sort of rings I like and not like. The guy looked a bit sleazy in my opinion (but then again, what jewelery sales person are not sleazy?) but I tried on a lot of rings. I really liked a gold ring with the diamonds embedded in the ring. That sales person was already pushing the different ring sizes on to my finger, getting out the log book and all that and I’m like “Dude, we’re just looking.”

So, today, we went to another side of town which has both Michael Hill and Pascoes. The Michael Hill store was doing the whole “we’re so 133t, we need the bodyguard to herd the customers into a single file like a herd of animals”. So I told my mother since Michael Hill is doing something like this, I’m not going in. I’m a customer wanting to buy jewelery, not some fucking barn animal being lead into a single file by a bodyguard.

Walked into Pascoes…came out with a receipt for a gold ring. The Pascoes sales person was giving us a whole lot of important information while Michael Hill were just “buy buy buy”. Next time, I’m going to Pascoes first. It was actually a fun experience buying my first real piece of jewelery. My mother and the sales assistant really liked a white gold ring with three diamonds placed slightly higher than the ring. I was really ‘iffy’ on the diamonds placed higher. I wanted them IN the ring but the sales assistant said that if I get them resized, the pattern will go out of shape so it’s best if I went for something like a princess style or a solitaire set because my finger is tiny.

The sales assistant saw how much I really wanted the diamonds embedded that she finally said, “Perhaps since you like it not so much ‘off the ground’ (diamond placed higher than ring), would you like to try on the plain gold bands?” Me = “YES.” She explained that these were not on display because they’re plain gold bands made mainly for wedding rings. But all I heard was the rings calling my name. I nearly bought a ring which was quite rounded before I cast my eyes on to the shelf again and tried a “flatter” ring on. Mother thought that the flatter one looked better.

So now, I’m a proud owner of a plain gold ring band, mainly for wedding rings, 9ct gold. I wanted a higher content of gold but 9ct was the highest they had. Pictures when my re-sized ring arrives.

I’m so excited~~~!

Oh yeah, tips when buying ring:

If you’re buying white gold, remember that every 3~4 years, you’re going to have to bring it into the jewelery store and get it back to top shape. Yellow gold does NOT need this.

If you are buying rings with patterns, always ask if the pattern will be affected when resizing.

Gosh, I’ve been meaning to post this but have been partly extremely lazy. So, this is the second part of the things I ordered online during my study break. I’ll say that I’m very happy with this lot compared to the previous one where the pocket mirror was slightly disappointing.

There still the custom wallet but I’ll talk about it later because it deserves it’s own little section. ?

So, first and second picture [half of it] is of the four keychains I ordered on Livejournal[taconaco]. I got Harry Potter, Kakashi [Naruto], ???[Death Note] and ???[Yami no Matsuei]. They are adorable hehehhheee…*hem hem*.

The other half of the second picture and third picture is a lot of four pie-shaped keychains ordered from Etsy[skookyspry]. These are as cute as they look, even cuter actually! I’m really happy I got them. It was buy one get one free thus, I have four.

The fourth picture is of a set of 12 mind-teaser games. I love these sort of things. I suck at word-games, mind-teaser word games and all thsoe, but these sort of objects games, I’m totally in. (As you can see in the picture, it shows one of the completed mind-teaser games. [Second column, middle row, metal balls in a circle])

Now, onto my custom clutch wallet…thing. It really is as awesome as it looks by the way! XD By the way, made by Etsy[thelaughinghouse]. I really recommend them as they did it exactly as I said I want it done.

The first image just shows the overall “look” of the wallet. The fabric is Amy Butler’s “Kashmir in Olive”. It’s fantastic, right?! OK, the nitty gritty of it.

The original wallet was the wallet itself without the strap. I specified how I wanted the strap, which they did it perfectly well.

As you can see from the second picture, it’s a single strap “crossing” over the wallet. Second and third picture shows how the strap is attached. One side is permanently stitched on, the other side has a snap-button clasp.

Fourth picture shows there’s a secret snap-button clasp as well to attach the zipper(yes, underneath the zipper is a snap-button clasp) when using the wallet like shown in the first picture.

Last picture just displays the junk I can fit in it.

Again, pardon the LQ images. My webcam may be tiny and cheap($12), but it does it’s job well. *pets webcam* The lightning is also crap because it was either no lights(thus, black) or light. Dinner time now, au revoir for now.
