That’s how we roll.

Entry served on 27 June 2011 at 23:07

Well, hello world! I’m typing this on my brand new laptop. I have to say, the keyboard is a bit of getting used to. It’s much more “square and set” than my previous ones. And the arrow-pad is the hardest. The left and right keys are normal sized. The up and down arrow key is half the height of the left/right arrow and is a bitch getting used to as every time I want to press up, nothing happens because I’m pressing the Shift key! And when I want to go down, the screen “jitters” because I’m pressing the up and down button. It’s so freaking tiny! Why, HP, WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME. The dead laptop was a HP pavilion as well, so I don’t understand why the ugly change on the arrow pad??

The stupidly-designed arrow pad on my brand new baby.

Anyway, moving onto more delicious things! A couple of incredibly kind soul (Bekki & Eva) finally identified the incredibly sexy dance clip in this post. The track is called ‘Abandoned’ by Jay Park and Dok2. Gah, I’m all squeee about it, still.

No matter how many times I look at it, everything is hot. I don’t recommend checking out my Last.FM profile for the moment. If I’m not listening to Stephen Fry’s Harry Potter audiobooks, it’s full of Jay Park’s Abandoned. Seriously. Just one tiny thing. I love love love the ending (no singing) and the slight drums kinda…roll. They roll, I roll, that’s how we roll for the time being.

Larger Than Life

Oh lord, I see that yellow “upgrade to WP 3.1.3 now” banner on my admin panel. I’m so scared to click it. Things might break and blurgh, not in the frame of mind to tinker around at the moment…

Moving on, I just remembered a Livejournal Harry-Potter role-play community that I use to just kinda…lurk about. The main community is called Hogwarts is Home and to get in to this fun, you had to apply at the “sorting” community. Now, this is where it gets interesting. The last time I checked the sorting community back in probably 2008/2009, there were A LOT of applicants who got “squibbed/muggled”. And if I remember correctly from back in the days, applicants who got the dreaded “squibbed/muggled” were not accepted into the community and not allowed to re-apply either at all, or for at least one year. Pretty harsh…

I admit, some applicants were deserving of being “squibbed/muggled”, but I thought some, if not most were not. My personal take on the whole lot of extra “squibbed/muggled” votes being casted in was to keep the community slightly more elite. That’s the feel I got!

But now in 2011, constant reminders on trying to avoid “squibbed/muggled” votes. In 2008/2009, your chances of getting in was about 50% I’d say, now it’s up to about 75% – 80%. I would try my luck at applying but just filling out the application is…a slight chore.

Filling out the application requires me to think and analyze every little bit of ‘me’ at the moment, and to be honest, I don’t feel like doing that. This kind of thing is online, it’s fun, it’s…not real. The ‘me’ is real, it’s offline, it’s private and I don’t feel particularly up to sharing myself and allowing people to critique or…categorize me.

I don’t even feel comfortable posting what my childhood dreams were in a virtual application like that. I’d tell the world what my childhood dreams were when I’m good and ready. Not because I have to say it in some application.

That’s when I take things literally. I guess I could…imagine some information, most information…fine. ALL information.

This Desire Baby In HD

Entry served on 21 May 2011 at 00:00

Why my lack of angsty posts lately, I hear you ask? Well, let me introduce my brand new baby, the HTC Desire HD.

HTC Desire HD - Home Page HTC Desire HD - Side Screen
HTC Desire HD - Keypad HTC Desire HD - Back

I got it about two weeks ago, and the Martin Fields screen protector has already been applied to the phone, though you can’t see it because it’s the awesome powers of a Martin Fields screen protector at work.

Right, description about the photo clockwise…top-left is the main page. I changed the background from that really colorful default looking background to a more subtle-toned so as to not hurt my eyes too much. There’s a bar in the middle there and I don’t know what the middle icon is for. The ugly-pink bar is just covering some sensitive information. Don’t think too much of it…

Top-right features one of the “side-screen”. I call that my music screen for incredibly obvious reasons. I like the fact that the bottom bar which contains links to all your applications, phone application and personalization settings are there in ANY screen. Just as I was taking the picture, my dad sends me a message so, pink bar to cover sensitive information, as per usual.

Bottom-right is the back. The usual culprit makes it’s appearance (camera, flash, loudspeaker). The black panel on the side is where the battery pack is (I’m 99% sure) and let me assure you, it is a real bitch to remove the panel to access the battery. I literally had to PRY the panel away using my fingernails until I thought something would snap. Nothing snapped…except my heartbeat stop for a moment when I thought I went too far and broke something.

Bottom-left is the landscape keypad layout. I find this way much easier to txt/email than the squished version when using the phone normally. But even in landscape, I’m still having some difficulty getting used to touch-screen typing. I’m afraid to say it…but this baby is too sensitive sometimes…*ducks flying knives and pitchforks*

One thing that is a bit weird I thought is the lack of video-calling capabilities (re: lacking camera on the front). My old Sony Ericsson K800i had that feature, why couldn’t the Desire HD have it? It’s no biggie but I just thought it was weird. On the other hand, if the Desire HD does have this capability, can someone let me know where I can find this?

OK, this entry took me two hours and it’s now 23:59, Sir Awesome here, signing out!

OK, but damn damn damn! This is what I’m talking about! Holy smokes he is everything and anything even yummier than…whatever is the yummiest! My favorite part? The first 2-3 seconds when he’s all like…ATTITUDE, BABY. I wish I knew who he is and what that track this clip is to. OK, last time but really…GRAARRR, YOU. ARE. YUMMY.

Totally not about the really incredibly hot clip above, I’ve been feeling really old-school and started playing Pokemon Trading Card Game (which I have already finished, duh) and Legend of Zelda – Oracle of Ages. Let’s see how old school with the PTCG…

I, Winner You see Oak, now you don't. The effing toin coss that prolongs the game so effing much.

You have no idea how much I hated that toin coss. Toin coss to see if my Pokémon was paralyzed, asleep, poisoned or collateral damage. I hate toin cosses.

Then, I moved on to Oracle of Ages and it was fun. I won’t deny that. It was fun right up until the effing game screwed up how many keys I had in the Wing Dungeon, and I couldn’t proceed to that one FINAL step before the boss fight. I’m…taking a break before I accidentally destroy this precious laptop in my fit of…I guess nerdfury???
